Big things definitely come in small packages! Dazzling colours, whimsical songs and sparkling personalities abound in our Small Aviary. Many birds so small, you could fit 6 in your hand! Over 40 species make their home in the Small Aviary, including endangered and rare species.

The exhibit overlooks the incredible Niagara Gorge which is a renowned bird watching spot and breeding ground. This exhibit was designed specifically for two reasons... so that you can catch more than a glimpse of these tiny characters, as they would disappear in the Main Atrium, and so these birds don't make a tasty snack for the larger birds in the Main Atrium!

Here you can witness the incredible colours, hear the distinct song and watch as the unique personalities of each species comes alive! This exhibit is dedicated to George Rason, our founding Curator and has just finished a complete renovation, converting it into a free flying Aviary!
